Teams Confirmed.
Referee: Dave Watters
Evening All! Lots of excitement from the BSN Team (Ian Brannan & Adam Roynon). They confirmed that Laguta has had a practice at Saddlebow this morning. Laguta has a little English, so new Stars' Captain Jakobsen will be assisting with translation to/from Polish.
Coin toss: Howarth called Heads. It came down Tails and Jakobsen selected 2&4.
Track walk: Lee Kilby with Jakobsen ... who says he's 120% up with being Captain. Gates: Jakobsen says the outside gates are better early on. KL shale is different , with way more clay. It can stay sticky all meeting. It's very grippy and sometimes you feel you can't get a skid on! Kilby: Where's the best line to take coming into the first bend? Definitely the inside, because the dirt line won't build up. Maybe one metre out on the first bend. After the first fur heats we'll see riders looking at the outside line. Kilby: Have you spoken to Laguta about set-ups? Yes, we've been discussing the track, how we ride it, and with Kye Thomson too - two new guys in the team. We want to win home matches, then look at trying to win away. Kilby: Can you see the difference in grip on the track, going from inside to out down the back straight? Yes - it's much more obvious in daylight, than under lights when you're racing - so you have to be aware of the change from slick to deep to slick - and if a rider behind you has got their wheels in line quicker - it's a long back straight, so they can get past. Oldcynic: As usual, and excellent track walk, and interview -0 Jakobsen in fluent English and clearly an intelligent and thoughtful guy, with a good sense of humour.
15 Minute delay, with so many people queuing to get in ...
Lee Kilby chatting to Palm Toft: I'm getting back together after recovering from injury. It can take a long time, getting back into the things you need to do, getting rid of bad habits. Looking to get a victory tonight.
Brannan and Roynon discussing the teams. Morris is a handy guest for the Stars - Roynon says he can remember Morris riding as a 16-year old.
19:40 - Parade has begun.
