Heat Results
Heat 01: (Awarded) Roynon, Branford, White-Williams, Widman (FX), No Time, 4-2
Line Up: Roynon, White-Williams, Branford, Widman
Comments: Restart, All 4 - don't know why.
Widman fell turn 4, lap 3. EL Superstar was flying out front and looking like he was after his own track record. Widman forcing a red light put paid to that. Thankfully the latter seems fine and was straight up. he was three quarters of a lap behind Roynon which is why it had to be stopped. Nothing else to report.

Heat 02: Greenwood, Ritchings, Blacklock (F,rem), Andrews (F), 5-1, 9-3
Line Up: Ritchings, Greenwood, Andrews, Blacklock
Comments: Greenwood all the way. Blacklock fell when second. Andrews fell when third behind the Heathens. Those nasty heathens fans applaud as Blacklock got up to continue and again when he eventually finished, having almost fallen off again a couple of times.

Heat 03: Bekker, Perry, Felton, Priest (F,rem), 5-1, 14-4
Line Up: Perry, Bekker, Priest, Felton
Comments:Perry from the gate. Very tight into turn 3 between Priest and Bekker. Priest inside slides off. As that happened Perry mistake, even with his PL & EL experience, puts him out by the fence and Bekker goes inside him. Again the horrible lot that we are, Priest is appluaded as he gets up to continue.

Heat 04: Morris, Greenwood, McKinna, Blacklock (F), 5-1, 19-5
Line Up: Morris, Greenwood, McKinna, Blacklock
Comments: Morris makes the PL and EL meetings he's had this season pay off and wins at a canter. Blacklock fell off on his own. More shocking behaviour as he's applauded for clearing the track.

Heat 05: Perry, Branford, Bekker, Widman, 4-2, 23-7
Line Up: Perry, Bekker, Branford, Widman
Comments: Finbally a race to speak of. Perry out the gate but cracking first turn by Branford to lead down back straight.. Perry gave chase and tried insdie and outside until finally making an outside pass with half a lap to go.

Heat 06: Roynon, McKinna, White-Williiams, Andrews 4-2, 27-9
Line Up: Roynon, White-Williams, McKinna, Andrews
Comments: Stopped, unsat start, all 4 back. McKinna straight-lined turn one and hit Roynon. Somehow Roynon stayed on, but ref stopped it. McKinna quick to apologise.
Re-start: No mistake for the EL superstar this time with classy tapes to flag win. Stunning first turn by White-Williams to go around the visitorsin to second. Equally good turn 4 lap 1 by McKinna to take it back.

Heat 07: Morris, Ritchings, Felton, PRIEST (Ret), 5-1, 32-10
Line Up: Morris, Ritchings, PRIEST, Felton
Comments: PRIEST as TR.
Priest DNF last lap when miles behind. Again the PL and EL occasional makes his vast experience pay off to win with ease. Ritchings shows that just being named as a PL #8 is worth its weight in gold by riding a great line for 2 laps to hold on tos econd as the visitors made a strong challenge either side of him. he then pulls well clear.

Heat 08: White-Williams, Greenwood, Widman, Blacklock, 5-1, 37-11
Line Up: White-Williams, Greenwood, Widman, Blacklock
Comments: The new Welsh #1 and the comeback kid bang ina 5-1. Wonder if any PL promoters are watching? Sign themup. (Lovey says: Adams could do worse than sign up the Heathens, instead of hopeless non-Brits!)

Heat 09: Perry, Bekker, McKinna, Blacklock (F), 5-1, 42-12
Line Up: Perry, Bekker, McKinna,Andrews Blacklock
Comments: Stopped. Looked like Perry and Andrews got hooked up on each otherhalf way to the turn. Nasty fall for Andrews. Perry managed to stay on as they broke clear of each other. perry has gone back showing concern. After a little attention, Andrews is sitting up. Hopefully he'll be up soon.
Update: Andrews has walked away but has a suspected broken thumb and won't ride again tonight . Best wishes to him - hope it's not too bad and he can get back on bike asap.
All 4 back, but Blacklock in as reserve for Andrews.
Blacklock fell and DNF, but once again applauded for clearing the track. The British U21 speedway silver medallist, double U21 British grasstrack Champion, PL reserve and EL #8 wins with great ease. The four-time South African Champion uses all his International experience pay to take an easy second.

Heat 10: Roynon, Priest, White-Williams, Felton 4-2, 46-14
Line Up: Roynon, White-Williams, Priest, Felton
Comments: Roynon perhaps making a late bid for a Team GB place has won it before the tapes hit the top of the posts. Good ride by Priest with a smooth second. Good race at the back with Felton pushing hard all the way on the outside of White-Williams.

Heat 11: (Awarded) Morris, BRANFORD, Ritchings, Widman (Fx) 4-4, 50-18
Line Up: Morris, Ritchings, BRANFORD, Widman
Comments: Branford takes the TR.
Widman fell last lap turn 1 forcing a stoppage. he's walked away fine. Brandfor made the best start. Morris, perhaps using the experience he gained in lkast season's British Final rides a super turn 1 to pass inside and clear off. Great race at the back. Widman was rolling at the start, so was leading Ritchings, who never panics and set about stalking his prey. He made an inside pass off turn 4 lap 3.

Heat 12: (Awarded) Perry, Priest, Greenwood, Blacklock (Fx) 4-2, 54-20
Line Up: Perry, Greenwood, Priest,Andrews Blacklock
Comments: Blacklock replaces Andrews.
Blacklock fell last lap, turn 2, again forcing a red light. Running out of superlatives for the class-apart Heathens' future legends. Easy for 'Fred'. Priest now riding better to take another good second. Greenwood did a 300(ish) degree turn in middle of turn 1/2 first lap, somehow stayed on from that. Then the bike gripped, straightened-up and drove head first into fence and he still stayed on. Turned around and continued half a lap behind. Blacklock fell when he just had to finish the last lap for a point.
Being sensible for a moment, 21C H says he's actually disappointed for Blacklock not to get the point there. Thankfully, he's got straight up and seems fine.

Heat 13: Roynon, Morris, Branford, McKinna, 5-1, 59-21
Line Up: Roynon, Morris, Branford, McKinna
Comments:Wow what a ride. Give him a Cardiff wild card I say. Roynon looking back for Morris throughout but wins by 2/3rds of the straightin the fastest time of the night. Morris comfortable in second after the initial shake up in the first turn.

Heat 14: Ritchings, Bekker, Felton, Blacklock, 5-1, 64-22
Line Up: Bekker, Ritchings, Felton, Blacklock
Comments: Super race. Ritchings leading all the way. Riding under a vastly experienced captain is working nicely for the youngster. Felton holding second with Bekker challenging hard around the outside. Going into the last turn 'Boris' changes lines and tries a divebomb on Uncle Dean. Felton drifts out a touch and bekker makes the inside pass on the run to the line.
Being sensible again: good ride by Felton and quick to congratulate Bekker for a good fair race.

Heat 15: Perry, Morris, Branford, Priest, 5-1, 69-23
Line-up: Perry, Morris, Branford, Priest
Comments: Oh waht a way to end! Race of the season so far. heathens jump out the gate on a 5-1. Brandford ridesan awesome turn 1 and back straight to pass both going into turn 3. he then makes a bit of a mess of the turnand drifts out. Perry had already turned under him. Morris had to as Brandford drifted across him. Perry goes through to the lead. Morris and Branford go shoulder-to-shoulder to to turn 1 lap 2. Off turn 2 lap 2 Morris goes inside Branford. off turn 4 lap 2 Branford returns the favour. The two race shoulder-to-shoulder along the home straight again with barely an ice cream wafer between them. Branford trying to cling on but eventually Morris gets his nose back ahead on lap 3 and just keeps it on the last lap still under pressure. Absolutely top-drawer racing by both. Morris makes sure Branford comes round for the applause too.
